FDM - Fused Deposition Modeling
FDM process follows a method where the solid material is melted and deposited layer by layer to form the 3D object.
Suitable for prototyping parts and applications where surface finish is not much of an issue.
eg: Industrial Prototyping , Tooling etc.
SLA / SLS - Stereolithography / Selective Laser Sintering
SLA uses resin material and forms 3D object out of it using a light source like laser or led display.
SLS uses powdered material and forms 3D object out of it using sources like laser.
Suitable for applications where precision and surface finish is a requirement.
eg : Dental Applications, Medical Equipment etc.
Metal Printing
Metal printing has different technologies like SLM / DMLS which use a guided laser to print a 3D metal part out of powdered metal.
This can exponentially reduce the fabrication time and cost required especially in automotive and aerospace industry.
